Christian Marriage Counseling in St. Louis

Your Marriage Can Be Stronger Than It Is Today

Break the cycle of conflict and rebuild connection- with professional marriage counseling that respects your Christian faith.

You love each other and value your marriage, but the same arguments, distance, or hurt keep getting in the way. Christian marriage counseling can help you understand the cycle you're stuck in and begin reconnecting.

You don't have to figure it out alone.

It's Not Just About Stopping the Arguments

Most couples don't struggle because they don't care about each other. They become caught  in a cycle.

One spouse may push harder because they don't feel heard. The other may become defensive or withdraw because they feel criticized. That withdrawal creates even more frustration, which leads to more pursuing- and the cycle continues.

Marriage counseling helps you slow that cycle down, understand what's happening underneath it, and begin creating a different experience with each other.

In Christian marriage counseling, we can help you:

  • Break recurring patterns of conflict
  • communicate without attacking, defending, or shutting down
  • Rebuild emotional and physical intimacy
  • Work through resentment and past hurt
  • Restore trust after betrayal
  • Strengthen friendship, connection, and understanding

Professional Marriage Counseling Grounded in Christian Faith

For Christians, marriage is more than a relationship between two people. It is a covenant before God.

But Christian marriages still experience hurt, conflict, disconnection, resentment, and broken trust.

At Life Care Counseling, you don't have to choose between effective professional counseling and your faith.

Counseling can incorporate biblical principles, Scripture, prayer, forgiveness, grace, commitment, and your relationship with God while also addressing the emotional and relational patterns keeping your marriage stuck.

Your faith isn't something we work around. It can become par of the healing process.

Go Beneath the Conflict

My primary approach to couples counseling is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Rather than simply teaching communication techniques, EFT looks at the emotional patterns underneath the recurring conflict.

The goal isn't to determine who is right or wrong. It's to help you understand the cycle you're caught in, recognize what each of you is experiencing underneath your reactions, and create a healthier way of connecting.

Meet Craig Foust

A Marriage Counselor Who Understands Your Faith

I've been helping couples, individuals, teens, and families in the St. Louis area since 2013.

Much of my work focuses on relationships—particularly the patterns that cause couples to feel disconnected even when both people genuinely want their marriage to work.

My counseling style is active, practical, and relational. Rather than simply listening to you argue about what happened during the week, we'll work to understand the deeper cycle underneath the conflict and create new ways of responding to one another.

For Christian couples who want faith incorporated into counseling, we can intentionally integrate Christian beliefs and biblical principles into that work.

Emotionally Focused Therapy can be effective with couples from a wide range of backgrounds and worldviews.

That is up to you! I will if you are comfortable with it or seeking it.

We may explore this if it relates to your relationship challenges. If it does not, then it is not a barrier to working on the marriage. Some couples feel more encouraged to talk and explore their faith when the cycle is not present.

I will start to track the cycle that negatively affects your communication and gather a short history to understand how long this cycle has been present.

By the end of the first session, I'll have a clearer understanding of whether I am a good fit to help and what the next steps should be.

I do not accept any forms of insurance. I can provide documentation you can turn into your insurance for your benefits.

Marriage counseling is $165 per 50-minute session. More information on fees and payment options can be found here

It is common for couples to seek counseling when their marriage is at a breaking point. Considering divorce doesn't necessarily mean it's too late. Counseling can help you understand what is happening in the relationship and determine whether there is a path towards rebuilding trust and connection.

Your Marriage Doesn't Have to Stay Stuck

You don't need to know exactly how to fix your marriage before reaching out. That's what counseling is for.
Start with a free 15-minute consultation. You can tell me briefly about what's happening, ask questions about counseling, and determine whether Life Care Counseling feels like the right fit for you and your spouse.
